… all it takes is a dark location, and a lot of patience … and some post processing. The location means being away from city lights, in the case in the middle of a field. It also meant that it was cold, mid-August cold, three layers cold. For patience it was a matter of setting up the camera on a tripod, and then a 30 second exposure. The light of houses and cars illuminated the trees. The stars revealed themselves over the 30 seconds. Afterwards it was a matter of adding contrast, allowing the stars to pop, and adding some colour to the milky way.
